Back to Basics Events Ltd (B2B Events) was formed by Roger Sumner (now retired) and Helen Martin in 2006, when they took over the Malvern Antiques & Collectors Fair and the Malvern Flea & Collectors Fair. These two fairs are well known on the fair circuit and held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire.
Helen was a dealer and exhibitor for close on thirty years. She too has also organized antiques and collectors fairs before her time with B2B, so has seen both sides of the fence, and therefore is able to empathize with you all.
2007 saw the addition of the Kinver Antiques & Collectors Fair (now organised by Roman Fairs) with the Edinburgh Antiques & Collectors Fair in 2009. At this time David Craig came on the scene to help with the Edinburgh Fair. David is a well know face in Scotland, as a long term dealer he attends many auctions, and has regular stands at the Peterborough, Lincoln and Newark Fairs in England, he also ran his own fair in Edinburgh for a short while.
Another huge change came about in 2010 with the acquisition of the Kent International Antiques & Collectors Fair at Detling, near Maidstone. The same year Alan Yourston joined the company as a Director. Alan brought his ten years experience as Fairs Manager and Senior Fairs Manager for DMG and then with IACF. He is a well-known figure around the fairs circuit. Before joining DMG, Alan had his own business running events such as the East Midlands Ideal Home Exhibition. His events experience goes beyond just the Antiques circuit and his expertise helps B2B Events continue to provide a first class service.
Three years later we saw the introduction of the Antiques & Vintage Bazaar held at the old Bird’s Custard Factory in Birmingham. This closed in 2015 after three successful years.
In 2016 we introduced the Cranmore Park Vintage & Antiques Fair. Held in a bespoke Exhibition Hall located in Solihull just off the A34 Stratford Road (M42, J4), it is a fantastic Midlands venue - clean, bright and user friendly. 2017 will see the fair move to a Sunday - a response to customer feedback – and we look forward to seeing this event grow. We are backed by two very capable ladies in the B2B Office at Newark, namely Julie and Shelley, who make up the full team. Our Team has many years involvement in organising, exhibiting and buying at these events, and so is well qualified to provide an enjoyable and successful experience for everyone.
